Excellent hand-to-hand fighter.

His costume is made of a lightweight, synthetic material derived from spider silk and is bullet resistant.

His shield is possibly laminated with a layer of silver to protect against werewolves and/or a layer of iron to protect against demons.

Has a good knowledge of pre-Event superheroes and villains from reading his father's journals.

Background: James's father was a costumed hero 20 years ago, now retired. James discovered his journal and equipment in the attic and is now using them himself (without his father's knowledge).

Caucasian; short, dark hair; tall; well-muscled physique, square jawed. Usually wears a form-fitting green and black costume with knee-length boots, gloves (or, more accurately, gauntlets) and a cowl hiding his head and upper face.

Strapped to his left forearm, when in costume, is a shield. This is a round disc, about two feet (60cm) diameter and slightly convex It is matt black with a silver pentagram on it.

Out of costume, he is usually dressed casually but conservatively in jeans and shirts (always long sleeved, as he commonly wears the costume underneath).
